Enough
Her corner, between rounds. One eye closing, one question from the cutman, one word back.
Her corner between rounds. The cutman works a steel enswell into the swelling under her left eye.
She flinches back an inch and he brings her head back with his thumb.
“Can you see out of it?”
Close on her, the eye nearly shut, looking straight at him.
Her answer.
“Enough.”
His hands at the cut.
The enswell rolls along the bone, his thumb drags vaseline into the split brow, the towel pinks.
He pushes the mouthguard in with his thumb and taps her cheek twice.
She closes on the guard and her eyes move off him, forward.
One hard wipe of the towel down her face, and he leaves the corner.
Span 2 starts here, chained off span 1's last frame. The model re-renders that frame slightly off, so the join is cut as a 1.2x punch-in instead of hidden inside a continuous shot.
“Hands up. All the way up.”
Alone on the stool under the one light.
Forearms on her knees, gloves on, breathing through the guard. The bell rings once.
Her gloves.
She knocks them together, hard.
Low on her face as she comes up into the light.
Jaw set, looking past the camera. Nobody else in the corner.
Every call in the cut, on the record.
